UNIFORM CARE AND MAINTENANCE

To enhance the appearance of your team and extend the life of your garments, Goal Line Athletics and their manufacturers
recommend the following cleaning and storing procedures:

DO NOT DRY CLEAN YOUR UNIFORMS
DO NOT WASH IN WARM OR HOT WATER
DO NOT USE CHLORINE BLEACH
DO NOT DRY ON HIGH HEAT
DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTENER

LAUNDRY PREPARATION
For best results, launder uniforms immediately after each wearing.
If garments cannot be cleaned promptly they should be rinsed out and placed individually on rust-proof hangers or hooks as
perspiration/moisture may cause color migration of acid dyes.
DO NOT leave wet or damp garments in a pile or laundry/travel bag.
Garments should be inspected for tears, snags, etc. prior to washing so repairs
can be made to prevent further damage.
All contrasting color items (belts, etc.) should be removed and washed separately.
Prior to laundering a load of new uniforms, a sample uniform should be washed according to label instructions.

PRE-SOAKING
Soaking heavily soiled garments in cold water with a protein release agent (Wisk®, etc.)
for a maximum of 45 minutes.
Garments should be washed in a normal wash cycle immediately.
If pre-soak procedures are not possible, rinse individual garments in cold water and place individually on
rust-proof hangers or hooks as perspiration/moisture may cause color migration of acid dyes.
DO NOT leave wet or damp garments in a pile or laundry/travel bag.

WASHING
DO NOT wash whites and colors together.
DO NOT overload the machine.
Wash all garments in COLD water.
All garments should be rinsed in COLD water.
Use a mild detergent (pH under 10.0 pH) such as Ultra TideTM, Tide®, Tide LiquidTM, CheerTM, Ivory®, etc.
Maintain a high water level in the washing machine to minimize the mechanical action.
Only if uniforms are heavily soiled should the water level be low to increase mechanical action.
DO NOT use a fabric softener.
DO NOT pour sodium additives on athletic uniforms as discoloring or stains are, in most cases, permanent.
DO NOT use chlorine bleach.

DRYING
For best results allow garments to hang dry (particularly those containing Spandex).
If hang drying is not possible, tumble dry on air dry setting.
Jerseys should be placed in dryer with the reverse side out.
Remove all garments immediately from the dryer after cycle is complete.
Excessive heat will cause garment shrinkage, discoloration, peeling of fabric and
cracking of vinyl plastisol lettering inks.

STORAGE
Uniforms should be completely dry before storing.
Store uniforms in a cool, dry area, protected from sunlight and fluorescent light to prevent mildew and yellowing.
